The hotel perfect location on the best part of the old city allows for very pleasant explorations of the wall and the historic center. The staff is very nice and everyone tries their best to accomodate the guests needs. I specially liked the big breakfast table, where all guests eat together and exchange experiences.
Cleanliness; Breakfast chef was very kind and accommodating. Felt safe within the compound. Property was very charming
Staff was not the friendliest, but did cater to all of our needs.
The hotel was in the historical centre of the city, perfect for walking around and exploring. The front desk was great and always helpful. Breakfast was standard, some fruit, toast and eggs. We had a chef that came and took our order, then made it in a few mins. There are also a lot of channels (Sat & Cable) in the tv if you just wanted to stay it. Great experience, my Gf loved it.
It really felt like a very large house, and I think the floors & walls may have been little thin. I was "enjoying" the company of my Gf and someone started to beat on the floor above. :-) The pool is in a very central area, pretty much next to the lobby, so unless you want people to watch you swiming, for get it.
I did like the style of the hotel. Typical old rustique colombian style.
the absence of a breakfast card. Now the conversation in my bad spanish did not lead to the best choice of the breakfast.Although the waiter was very kind.
The staff at breakfast
Reception staff not experienced - pool area a waste of time. Lot of noise from road
The hotel is very cosy, well located and beautiful. The room was nice, and the bathroom was good. (Ps: I loved the limon soap!)
I didn´t like the breads of the breakfast...
I liked the way the hotel smelt of eucalyptus all the time. I liked the tranquillity of the place and real feeling of calm the minute you walked in. The communal dining table was nice too. The room was lovely, cool and clean. We had a wonderful time.
The breakfast could have done with changing every day as after three days of scramble eggs I wanted something else. But the food was delicious none the less.
Very nice place with great staff & excellent lopcation
I liked the friendly helpful staff and colonial atmosphere, the location (in the old city and very close to the conferecne centre I was attending for work reasons) and the free and reliable wi-fi. I liked that there were real hangers in the wardrobe
I didn't like the lack of atention to detyail and poor prive-value relationship. e.g the shower head, aside form being unsafe in that it is electrically powereed, was fiddly and hard to work out - For $100 a night I expect easy hot water, with a simple to operate faucet. Also there was no bath mat, the floor was dangerously slippery when wet, only bath towels were provided, not face towels an dthe tissues and sop were never replaced in teh five days I was there. In the bedroom there was just a shelf to work at, barely big enough even for my tiny netbook. The lighting was poor an dthe lamps and light fitting were not attractive or in keeping with the colonial style. Installing a ceiling fan would cut the hotel's a/c bills in half and add to the room's charm, The 'swimming' pool is waste of space: who wants to be sat in their trunks in view of anyone walking in off the street? And I HATE having to share a table at breakfast (and the breakfast weas very limited and samey)
The hotel is very charming, with very nice, helpful staff and great location, right in the heart of the old town. A real taste of old times spanish charm and decor with all the modern amenities in a very authentic setting. And I have to mention, the incredibly fantastic pastry shop next door: Pastries and macarrons to compete with the top french pastry chefs and I am not kidding. I'll go back to Cartagena just for the chocolate macaroons, and I'll stay at Casa India.
They lock the front door at night, and you have to ring the buzzer and wait. Great for security but a bit annoying. They could give you a key.
The staff was extremely friendly and knew good English.
Very nice and friendly staff. Breakfast delicious but not very big. Nice atmosphere and decoration. Bed was also good.
The shower was good but half part without any door so water came out a little bit from the shower. Rooms with balcony are very nice.
oasis in the middle of a busy town, feeling of security, nice people
no bar, no restaurant, only very good breakfast
The staff at the hotel was great! Simon, who would cook us our free breakfast every morning, was excellent. He would give us such a treat with great culinary information and he would bring little delicacies for us to try from Cartagena. The hotel is a short walk from just about everything and I know I will back again.
Very good hotel, well located, you are in the middle of everything. All the rooms are very nice and clean, the staff and the owner are very friendly.
